Meet our Team
Alan has been heavily involved in high school sports for many years as an athlete, baseball and softball coach and broadcaster at KMA Radio in Shenendoah. Alan has provided play-by-play in football and baseball for many years at IHSSN. After the company sold in 2021, Alan took over at IHSSN's Exective Director.
Ric has been a fixture in Des Moines for over 35 years, and formely served as sports director at WHO-TV 13. He later went on to own and operate a retail store and a restaurant, Silvestrini's Pizza. A long-time IHSSN announcer, Ric joined the company full-time in 2020 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Travis is our main man behind the scenes, working as IHSSN's producer / director for many years. He lives in Nashville and also works SEC atheltic events including Vanderbilt University. When he's not directing a show, Travis likes to perform, singing and playing guitar.
Kent is a long time coach, teacher and athletic director at Sidney High School, retiring after 32 years. Kent has been providing color commentary for IHSSN at State Football for over 15 years. He currently serves as business office manager for Larson Motors in Nebraska City. Kent's wife Dyan, still teaches at Sidney. They have two daugthers, Lexy and Olvia.
Jeff has been long-time play by play announcer and radio talent in the Des Moines market. He has called games for Drake women's basketball, Drake and Simpson football and many high school tournament games over the years. He currently calls basketball, baseball, and football for IHSSN. He and is wife Nancy live in Ankeny.
Hunter is a West Des Moines native who graduated from Drake University in 2016 with degrees in broadcast journalism and history. He quickly became involved in Drake athletics and has been the voice of Drake Women's Basketball since 2016, taking over for our own Ric Silvestrini. Hunter joined IHSSN in 2018 and has called basketball, baseball and soccer.
Mike grew up in Des Moines and played basketball for Dowling Catholic. He later coached along with his dad at Des Moines Christian and Des Moines Lincoln. He owns a real estate appraisal firm in West Des Moines with his two brothers. and has provided color commentary at State Basketball for IHSSN since 2017. He was named the new color analyst for Drake Men's Basketball beginning with the 2024-25 season. Mike and his wife Molly have two children, Maddy and Michael.
Jackie has spent over 20 years as a TV broadcast journalist and is very famliar to viewers in the Des Moines market. She currently is the Iowa National Guard Director of Public Affairs, the first civilian to hold that position. She recently became the videoboard and game day announcer for Iowa State Football at Jack Trice Stadium. You can see Jackie during state football, basketball and wrestling hosting IHSSN's corporate interviews.
Dave has a long coaching career that began in 1997 assiting his alma mater, Iowa City West, in basketball and baseball. After assiting in men's basketball at Kirkwood Dave took the head women's basketball coaching job at Chiipla College in Florida in 2003. He moved back to Iowa in 2012 to serve as an assistant on the Drake women's basketball team from 2012-14. Dave has been providing color commentary for IHSSN since 2015 in basketball and football.
Joe has been providing play-by-play for IHSSN in basketball and baseball for many years. His booming voice has landed him PA jobs with the Iowa Cubs, the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union and in 2021 was named the PA announcer for Iowa State Football and Men's Basketball.
If you are a wrestling fan, Mark needs no introduction. After a successfull high school wrestling career at Cedar Rapids Jeffersn, Mark was a two-time national champion, four-time Big 10 champion and 3-time Big 10 wrestler of the year at the University of Iowa. Mark was inducted into the Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2010. He is part of the Iowa Wrestling broadcast team and has worked the State Wrestling Championships for IHSSN the past several years.
Bob is a Pleasantville native who competed in several high school sports. After graduating from UNI he worked in the Panther sports information office. With a passion for high school sports, Bob has worked in radio and televsion for over 25 years, including hosting IHSSN's coverage of the State Indivdidaul and Dual Wrestling Tournaments. Bob works for Casey's General Stores in Ankeny.
Ozzie came to Des Moines in 1999 via England and Australia. He is a former college soccer coach who has also coached with various Des Moines soccer clubs. He is currently Technical Director for the United Futbol Academy in Des Moines. Ozzie made his IHSSN debut in June of 2023 providing color commentary for the State Soccer Championships. We admit, we love his Aussie accent!
Molly is a former KCCI TV news reporter in Des Moines. A Fort Dodge native, Molly went on to play college basketball at Drake University and was a member of the Bulldogs 2002 Sweet Sixteen Team. She has been involved in basketball broadcasting for over 20 years and currently provides sideline reporting for IHSSN at State Basketball. She lives in Fort Dodge with her huband Cole and four children.
Geoff has over 30 years of broadcast experience. He is a Des Moines East and Iowa State University alum. Geoff spent many years at WHO and KXNO radio in Des Moines before moving to Maryville, MO in 2013. He returned to Des Moines in 2021 and is the voice of Grand View football, as well as helping with basketball and volleyball. Geoff provides basketball, baseball and soccer play-by-play for IHSSN.
Nate began his broadcasting career at KWQC while still attending Webster City High School and is currently the voice the the Jesup J-Hawks. Besides broadcasting, Nate has been the PA announcer for Northen Iowa Athletics and the IHSAA football championsihps. At IHSSN, Nate has provided play-by-play in several sports, including baseball, soccer and football. Away from broadcasting, Nate is the Business and Industry Director for the CAPS Network.
Bryan has been the sports writer for the Southwest Iowa Herald newspaper in Shenandoah since 2018 and before that worked in sports radio in Shenandoah and MIssouri. Bryan provides play-by-play for IHSSN in baseball, basketball and football.
Andy is a 20-year TV veteran. Most central Iowans recognize him from his 13-year career at KCCI-TV where he served as Sports Director and Main Sports Anchor. A University of Iowa alum, Andy currently works for Wixted and Co. in West Des Moines as senior trainer and communications advisor. Andy provides pre-game and halftime coverage during state football and basketball.
Dave is a native Pleasantville and graduated from UNI in 1991. He has over 30 years experience in broadcasting working for several TV and radio stations including WOI-TV in Des Moines. Dave owns "Keep it Memorable Sports" and has been the Ankeny softball coach for 14 years. He and his wife Kim have three daughters. Dave handles social media for IHSSN at state football and basketball.
Jesse owns and operates Top Deck Media in Des Moines and has over 25 years experience in news, corporate, commercial and promotional video production. Jesse produces many of IHSSN's corporate videos, runs our stream for State Track and assists on social media.
Chris is the longtime boys basketball coach at Norwalk where he coached for 24 years until retiring in 2001. He led the Warriors to the State Tournament six times, winning the 3A title in 2020. He continues to serve as an administrator in the Norwalk School District. Chris provides color commentary during the state basketball tournament.
